Event Details:

While some native wildlife to the Pacific Northwest migrate to much warmer destinations for the winter, many stick it out through the colder and wetter months, here on the Peninsula.

Join us on Saturday, February 17th from 10am-12pm, as we learn about the many winter residents of the Puget Sound and the strategies that they use to survive and flourish! We will be exploring the diverse pockets of our Klingel preserve, considering some of the research taking place in and around Lynch Cove, as well as taking a short trip to neighboring Theler Wetlands Nature Preserve. The total walking distance will be ~1.5 miles long. While some of the trails are wide, well-groomed, or on boardwalks, there will likely be some off-trail excursions requiring attendees to step on or over downed logs or slippery/uneven ground. Wear footwear appropriate for muddy conditions!
