What: Walk and Talk: Orcas and Salmon
Where: GPC’s Curley Creek Tyner Preserve. Directions to this preserve will be provided via email after the attendee completes registration. Please RSVP!
What: Visit Curley Creek Tyner Preserve to learn about the latest successes in orca conservation from guest speaker Nora Nickum, a Senior Ocean Policy Manager at Seattle Aquarium! Did you know that on just this GPC preserve alone, coho, summer and fall chum, and coastal cutthroat trout use our creek for spawning? Curley Creek Tyner Preserve supports all three fish species and has the potential to someday also be habitat for two species listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act: steelhead and Chinook salmon. Join us on Saturday, October 28 from 10am-12 pm for a Walk and Talk focused on salmon conservation and how protecting salmon habitat helps protect and feed our Southern Resident Orcas in the Puget Sound.
