What: Walk and Talk: Minter Creek Conservation Easement
Where: Gig Harbor, Washington. Address and parking will be provided to attendees via email after registration. Please RSVP.
Ever walked through a carpet of native lilies and bleeding heart? Want to see the Key Peninsula’s most productive salmon stream up close? Join us for a rare chance to explore a beautifully forested floodplain and the new conservation easement that will keep it natural forever! Community naturalist Chris Rurik will lead the walk with a focus on everything from birds to moss to giant old stumps, while property owner Judy Austin will tell stories from her decades of investment in the biodiversity of her land and GPC conservation project manager Ali Querin will answer questions about conservation easements. You’ll be wowed by the beauty and peace here.
Accessibility: As part of this walk, our group will cover approximately a half-mile of mostly flat, narrow user/game trails. We recommend this hike for those who feel comfortable navigating uneven footing and those who are open to occasional off-trail excursions.
