Artist, farrier, rock climber, naturalist, and passionate steward of the peninsula... In fact, there aren't many skills we can think of that John Foltz hasn't mastered yet. John is a Port Orchard resident who developed a love of Banner Forest from his close friend and GPC founding member Chuck McGuire who was instrumental in protecting the 636-acre park. When he isn't volunteering for GPC, John can be found volunteering as a steward, docent, and group lead for Kitsap County Parks, Washington State University Extension, Harbor Wildwatch, and the Mountaineers.

Join us to learn a little about the history of Banner Forest Heritage Park and A LOT about the lichens and moss that thrive there.

The walk will be ~3 miles
The terrain is mostly flat but hiking poles are always recommended
In anticipation of "April showers" please dress for the weather
