What: European Green Crab Molt Search Training
Where: Seabeck Community Center. Detailed information about the event will be provided to attendees via email after registration. Please RSVP!
Save the date! Great Peninsula Conservancy will host a European Green Crab Molt Search Training on Thursday, June 13th from 10am-2pm. GPC Staff and VISTA recently attended a Molt Search training event led by Washington State University Extension and the University of Washington Sea Grant. We look forward to sharing what we learned with you. Special guests include Jeff Adams, Marine Ecologist at the University of Washington Sea Grant!
If you want to learn more about Molt Searches in the Salish Sea, please review the Washington Sea Grant Crab Team website: https://wsg.washington.edu/crabteam/.
Accessibility: We will be starting the day at Seabeck Community Center and finishing up the day at Misery Point Preserve. Misery Point Preserve is about a five-minute drive away and we will be carpooling from the community center. At Misery Point Preserve, we will be walking about ¼ mile up and down a hill and along a rocky shoreline. Note that it will also be in the summer during peak heat hours. Please bring water, walking sticks, and anything else that you might need.
