This month, GPC's Land Labs team and volunteers partnered with the Outdoor Leadership class at Bremerton's Mountain View Middle School for a field experience at Ueland Tree Farm. Students went on a hike to explore nature and complete a scavenger hunt with naturalist expert "GPC Gabi." Read more about their adventures on the Land Labs blog! |

Chico Creek Tree Planting February 6, 9am to 1pm Kitsap County invites you to participate in a massive tree planting effort along Chico Creek (parking at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club). They need as much help as possible to stabilize an ecologically significant riparian environment. Training on tree planting and refreshments will be provided. Sign up here. |

Friends of Miller Bay (FOMB) Weed Warriors February 16 & March 18, 10am to 12pm. FOMB will be working on the Miller Bay Preserve shoreline to grub out English ivy & holly and beat back the blackberries along the southern border. Kitsap Water Festival Tuesday, April 18th, 8am to 3pm Kitsap County Fairgrounds The annual Water Festival hosts up to 1,000 third and fourth grade students from across the county. Students learn the importance of protecting precious water resources and practical ways to implement water quality measures at home. Volunteers are needed to help with games, activities, and setup and breakdown of the festival. In return, volunteers get to work outside, have fun, and are provided breakfast snacks, lunch, and an official Kitsap Water Festival t-shirt. Learn more at https://www.kpud.org/water-festival/. |
