It's time to get down on the farm! Join us on Sunday, July 24th from 2-4pm for a GPC Walk and Talk focused on the history of the Davis Farm in Belfair. This beautiful acreage along the Union River was originally homesteaded in the late 1880s by the Irving family and purchased by Irene and Tom Davis in 1950 as a place to raise their growing family. Having watched development pressures slowly encroach upon the region, Irene and Tom had the foresight to work with the Hood Canal Land Trust (one of three land trusts that would later join to become Great Peninsula Conservancy) to protect the farm under a conservation easement. Today, Irene and Tom's great grand-children can frequently be found weeding flower fields or working the family booth at the farmer's market, practicing their family's deeply engrained stewardship ethic. Learn more about the Davis Farm's amazing history during this unique tour opportunity!
This special event was made possible by a grant from the Mason County Historic Preservation Commission.
