Land Labs Volunteer Teacher
Application Form
Land Labs is an educational program for underserved middle school students in the Bremerton area, which Great Peninsula Conservancy (GPC) launched in 2021. GPC partners with fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classrooms to provide access to outdoor science education. The program is supported by GPC staff and three AmeriCorps VISTA members at GPC, who lead place-based science curriculum on GPC preserves. GPC is expanding the program and we are looking for a team of education volunteers to help teach Land Labs in Fall 2022.
Through this experience, you can expect to:
- Explore wilderness preserves with 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students!
- Gain valuable outdoor education training and experience!
- Help students build a lifelong relationship with nature!
Volunteers will receive training in outdoor education techniques that meet BEETLES and Next Generation Science Standards. No experience necessary – we will train you!
