Virtual Climate Town Hall

When: Thursday November 12th, 6:30-7:30pm

Where: This is a virtual event. Sign up to receive the event link.

Details: Join us as we explore the current and future status of climate change on the Kitsap Peninsula with Dylan Mendenhall, Principal Ecologist with Haven Ecology and Research LLC, and Jacob Genuise, Engagement Climatologist with the Washington State Climate Office. Together, we will look at global climate science and explore what it means locally for our Puget Sound region.

After learning about local impacts, we will discuss the implications of climate change for conservation, biodiversity, and natural resource management on the Kitsap Peninsula. It may seem like our future is uncertain - that's why science is so cool! Science gives us data-driven information that we can use to chart a path forward. Bring your questions and curiosity!

Dylan Mendenhall, Haven Ecology and Research LLC, draws on over 15 years of experience in the practice and study of ecological restoration to bridge the divide between modern science and the ecological needs of our community. Jacob Genuise, Washington State Climate Office, works to ensure that everyone can access and understand high-quality climate information, tools, and data in meaningful ways.

This meeting is hosted by Haven Ecology and Research LLC and Great Peninsula Conservancy. Funding for this event is provided by a grant through the Climate Smart Communities Initiative.
